Dr.Aaron H. WestChiropractic Physician
Dr. Aaron West attended the University of Connecticut where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition as well as developed his expertise in the field of nutrition. Following his dream of becoming a healthcare professional, he pursued a career in Chiropractic and attended the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (http://www.bridgeport.edu/academics/schools-colleges/college-of-chiropractic/programs/chiropractic-dc/) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. West specializes in pain relief techniques for both short and long term care for back, neck and extremity pain where emphasis is placed on proper diagnosis (and he cannot emphasize this enough).
His interests include the treatment of sports related injuries, nutrition, and personalized rehabilitation strategies. Throughout his career, Dr. West has been able to treat a wide variety of patients, including children as well as NCAA and other athletes. Dr. West is specialized in several techniques that analyze muscle tone, body movement, and trigger points which allow him to help relieve patients’ pain much more effectively than traditional techniques. On top of general chiropractic practice, one of the therapies that Dr. West is most passionate about treating is the management of soft tissue injuries (both in the acute and chronic setting) as well as the nutritional management of chronic disease. Certifications of some soft tissue therapies performed in this office include but are not limited to Graston Therapy (http://www.grastontechnique.com/home) which is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) as well as FMT Blades (http://www.rocktape.com/education-research/fmt-blades/) which is another form of IASTM and dry needling, when clinically appropriate to which he is certified in.
Dr. West ensures to incorporate nutrition into the overall treatment of each patient but when more serious cases arise, a dedicated nutritional consultation is traditionally used. Being an active member of the American College of Nutrition and the Weston A. Price Foundation, Dr. West has a goal to heal each person with nutrient dense foods.
He holds a position as an Adjunct Faculty Member of Clinical Sciences at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic where he fulfills his love of teaching his passion of manual methods and clinical diagnosis. Dr. West is a sports enthusiast and enjoys living an active lifestyle. He can often be found anywhere in and on the water either spearfishing or out on his boat fishing.
